We’re delighted to announce a major milestone for the Strategic Solutions Community Foundation – we’ve now donated £254,218 to local charities and good causes across the South Coast.
Since launching our foundation six years ago, we’ve proudly supported 126 grassroots organisations, from food banks and schools to crisis support services, medical projects, and youth development initiatives. Our focus has always been on helping those who need it most in the communities where our clients and team live and work.
“This milestone is a testament to the generosity and values of our team, our clients, and our wider community. It’s about much more than the numbers – it’s about the lives changed and the futures made a little brighter,” said Allan Cruse, Partner & Chartered Financial Planner.
With charity status and a transparent, partner-led grants process, our Community Foundation is proud to champion causes year-round. From our popular Christmas Kindness campaign to educational outreach and financial guidance programmes, our commitment to social responsibility runs deep.
One of the local charities to benefit from our recent Christmas Kindness campaign was Young Devon, a charity based in Devon who help disadvantaged young people in the area with new opportunities to enable them to thrive.
“We are grateful and delighted in equal measures that you have chosen to support Young Devon and the work that we do with young people,” said Andy Moreman, Chief Executive of Young Devon, one of the charities supported through our Christmas campaign. “Last year we worked with more than 3000 young people who came to us for help with their mental health, housing and support in developing the skills they need to survive and then thrive. Our services have never been more in demand and young people face a more complex and challenging world than we have known for generations – your kind donation will help us continue supporting young people.”
The Foundation’s work also includes delivering impactful financial education in the community. We’ve run Dangers of Debt sessions in schools, presented to the AFC Bournemouth Youth Team on key issues like gambling, tax, and financial wellbeing, and hosted talks on pensions, wills and powers of attorney for businesses and the local chamber of commerce.
We’ve also run a powerful school tour with Oly Newton, an international speaker and mental health trainer. Oly visited primary and secondary schools in Folkestone, bravely sharing his personal journey with severe mental illness and encouraging young people to open up and seek help. Now a thriving advocate and speaker, Oly’s message resonated deeply with students and staff alike. His story is one of resilience and hope — and it’s thanks to the Foundation that we were able to help bring his mission to life and inspire the next generation.
As an organisation, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our mission so far. Together, we’re building a legacy of impact, compassion, and community and there’s so much more to achieve.
If you’re a local cause seeking support — or if you’d like to help us give back — we’d love to hear from you. Please visit https://ssfs.co.uk/community
