At Strategic Solutions, giving back to the community has always been at the heart of what we do. Our Community Foundation, launched in 2019, has now donated over £300,000 to more than 150 charities and local causes across the South Coast.
Our mission is simple: to support small, grassroots organisations that face funding challenges but have the potential to create real, lasting change in their communities. Since our inception, we’ve helped projects ranging from health and wellbeing initiatives to education, youth development, and essential community services. One recent highlight was supporting Southampton Hospitals Charity, whose team commented: “Because of you, families across University Hospital Southampton continue to feel the benefit of the care, compassion, and innovation your support makes possible.”
We have also continued our work with young people, funding Oly Newton’s schools tour across Kent earlier this year. Oly Newton is an international mental health advocate, speaker and founder of Lights On Wellbeing, who uses his lived experience of mental illness to inspire young people and open up honest conversations around mental health. Students from key stage 2 to year 9 attended engaging workshops focused on resilience, emotional intelligence and stress management, including practical tools such as the ‘stress bucket’ model. Feedback from teachers and students was overwhelmingly positive, with many leaving inspired and better equipped with practical strategies to face life’s challenges.

The Foundation also ran its 12 Days of Christmas Appeal in December 2025, supporting local seasonal initiatives, spreading joy across our community to twelve charities and good causes.

“We’re incredibly proud of what the Community Foundation has achieved. Every donation helps support local charities and grassroots groups, creating meaningful impact and brighter futures for the people and communities we serve.” said Rob Silk, Chartered Financial Planner.
Looking ahead, our Community Foundation remains committed to supporting as many local charities and causes as possible. If your local charity or good cause would like to be considered for support, then please visit https://ssfs.co.uk/community/.
